They rate energy companies against a set of 15 criteria across three key areas: how well they conduct customer service, how they deal with complaints and how they support customers in need. It’s a thorough set of tests � and only the best energy companies come out on top.

On our customer service, Which? say: �In our assessment, Ecotricity’s customer service setup scored well, with a variety of ways to get in touch that are monitored beyond standard working hours and days.�

Which? Recommended Providers must achieve a 70% customer score and score above average in the Which? Assessment.

The customer score is based on satisfaction and likelihood to recommend. Customers also rated aspects of service, which are presented as star ratings. The Which? Assessment score looks at supplier practices and procedures and is based on: customer service (30%), supporting customers who need it (30%), complaints performance (30%) and performance against 2022 smart meter targets (10%).
