This month we鈥檙e busy celebrating World Vegan Month alongside our partners, Viva! and the Vegan Society. 皇冠体育app鈥檝e always known about the benefits of going vegan, but we think this month is the perfect time to give it a try. Take a look at the reasons why you should go vegan this month below...

It鈥檚 good for you

Did you know that a vegan diet can make a big difference to your health? Research has linked vegan diets to lower blood pressure and cholesterol.

A team from found that 鈥渁ny effort to increase plant-based foods in your diet and limit animal products is likely to benefit your blood pressure and reduce your risk of heart attacks, strokes and cardiovascular disease.鈥

Often many people think that vegan diets are lacking what our body needs to perform successfully. But many athletes have actually moved to a plant-based diet like Formula 1 Champion, Lewis Hamilton.

Speaking to Men鈥檚 Health Magazine, Lewis commented that 鈥淚鈥檓 physically in better shape than I鈥檝e ever been, and I鈥檓 more successful than ever right now, and my plant-based programme has played such a big role in that.鈥

Combat the cost-of-living crisis

Eating a vegan diet is not only beneficial to your body but also for your wallet. Currently, we are all feeling the strain of living through the cost of living crisis. 皇冠体育app鈥檝e all noticed that food has increased in price, and it鈥檚 not going down anytime soon.

There鈥檚 often a common misconception that eating a vegan diet is really expensive 鈥 but it doesn鈥檛 have to be!

A study by actually found that "in the UK, adopting a vegan, vegetarian or flexitarian diet could cut your food bill by up to one-third."

According to , "lamb and beef sales have already fallen by 23.7% and 13.7%, respectively." This shows that Britons are turning to a vegan diet in our current economic climate.

So, you can enjoy the health benefits of a vegan diet whilst saving the pennies. A cost-of-living crisis is certainly not the reason we want people to change their lifestyle to a vegan one. However, it is brilliant to see more people take advantage of the benefits of a vegan diet and subsequently help protect the planet.

It鈥檚 your chance to become an eco-warrior

Did you know that by going vegan it鈥檚 your chance to play a role in combatting climate change?

It鈥檚 one of the biggest ways to reduce your impact on the environment. You could cut your carbon footprint in half by giving up meat and dairy.

According to a recent study from , 鈥渢he worldwide phase out of animal agriculture, combined with a global switch to a plant-based diet, would effectively halt the increase of atmospheric greenhouse gases for 30 years.鈥

Many scientists argue the extent that adopting a vegan diet can help the fight against climate change. But if we do adopt a plant-based diet, we鈥檙e certainly making a contribution to helping our planet.

Climate Clock

The Climate Clock is a version of the Doomsday clock that has been running since 1947 - this tracks the risk of global man-made disaster, through man made technology (like nuclear weapons) - displaying the minutes and seconds left before midnight, when disaster strikes. The climate crisis is a small part of the calculations made. The climate clock uses a similar approach, but, focuses only on the climate crisis - which is the biggest and most urgent existential threat we face."The Climate Clock is a countdown to the biggest man-made disaster we face - but also a measure by which we can track our progress - moving from fossil to renewable energy. It shows we have no time to lose - the clock is ticking鈥" Dale Vince, OBE.
