Winter is coming...聽our tips to help you save energy and stay warm in the colder weather.

If you know nothing about cutting down your energy usage to help you save money on your energy bills 鈥 fear not!

皇冠体育app鈥檝e put together our tips and tricks to help you stay warm as winter draws near.

    • Replace your lighting with LEDs. Just one LED light bulb can save around 拢7 a year.

    • Turn your appliances off properly instead of leaving them on standby. Yearly saving: 拢30

    • Not everyone has a great wall to keep out the cold 鈥 so look into getting your house professionally draft-proofed. Although this is a little pricey, it鈥檒l help you save around 拢25 a year on energy bills.

    • Turn off the lights when you鈥檙e not using them. Yearly saving: 拢14

    • 聽Use a bowl to wash up rather than a running tap. Yearly saving: 拢25

    • Your house doesn鈥檛 need to feel like it鈥檚 been heated by dragon fire! Turn your thermostat down by one degree to save up to 拢80 a year on your bills.

    • Only fill the kettle with the amount of water you need. Yearly saving: 拢7

    • Empty your hoover regularly 鈥 a full one will use more energy than an empty one.

    • If you have a chimney that you don鈥檛 use, get it capped. Yearly saving: 拢153

    • You can lose a quarter of your heat through an uninsulated roof. Getting your roof insulated costs 拢100 - 拢350, but you could save 拢175 a year.

And of course the biggest thing you can do to combat climate change is to switch to a green energy supplier 鈥 you can find out more here.

    Climate Clock

The Climate Clock is a version of the Doomsday clock that has been running since 1947 - this tracks the risk of global man-made disaster, through man made technology (like nuclear weapons) - displaying the minutes and seconds left before midnight, when disaster strikes. The climate crisis is a small part of the calculations made. The climate clock uses a similar approach, but, focuses only on the climate crisis - which is the biggest and most urgent existential threat we face."The Climate Clock is a countdown to the biggest man-made disaster we face - but also a measure by which we can track our progress - moving from fossil to renewable energy. It shows we have no time to lose - the clock is ticking鈥" Dale Vince, OBE.
